What
photo should I send to you?
Choosing
the right
image for your canvas print is the most important part of the whole
process. If you send in a great photo a canvas print will only enhance
it so follow the guidelines below to help you in your selection.
The ideal
picture is a
headshot of the person, pet or a close up of the object. The photos
that work best have the following characteristics:
- Good lightning, better when the light comes from the back of the
photographer and it's facing the subject. Also, try to avoid dark
shadows in the face of the subject.
- Good contrast and brightness. Make sure the photo is not under
exposed (too dark) or over exposed (too bright or too white).
- In order to make the best portrait out of your photo/s, we highly
recommend that you send us a good quality picture, where the face of
the person will be clear and big enough.
However, you don’t have to worry about things like cluttered
backgrounds or red eyes, we can fix that. Feel free to send a selection
of pictures that you like and we’ll use the one that we think
will work the best.
If you prefer,
you can email
or send to us more than one photo and we will let you know which one
works best for your portrait. You can also send us Black and white
photos.
The bigger the better is the simple rule. If you are sending in a
digital photo then send the largest size copy of it you have available.
Most digital cameras nowadays are around around 4-5 megapixels which
means that each photo you take is made up of 4-5 million little dots of
colour. At a very small print size these dots are so small that you
can't see them and they blend together to form the photo image. Image
you then took your small image and made it much larger - each small dot
would now be much bigger and the photo would get to a point where you
could start to make out individual dots (this is called pixelation). We
will of course advise you on how big you can print your photo without
it getting pixelated but to avoid dissapointment always leave your
camera settings on the highest quality.
Camera phones are getting more and more popular but unfortunately their
quality is still way behind that of dedicated cameras.
Is
it the same price if my photo is reproduced one time or four times for
the Warhol style?
Yes, for warhol
style price is the same if your photo is reproduced once or four time
for the warhol style.
We
only charge you
extra if their is an other personn on the portrait (couple for example)
or if it's an other photo of you, different than the first one. We will
charge you $20 for each extra photo.
Can
I choose a certain color scheme or do you pick the colors for me?
We
advice ou to let our artist choose the colors for you at first time.We
will choose the colors for you that we think match better the
photograph you sent to us. You will receive a preview of the design via
email before we print, to make sure you are satisfied with the colors.
You will after modify the colors as mmny as you want until you're
totaly satisfied.
What
is a canvas print?
Our canvas
prints take your
photos and print them directly onto artist grade cotton canvas using
the latest large format printers. The ink penetrates into the canvas so
that the texture of the canvas is still visible. We then laminate the
canvas with a very thin protective layer that seals in the colours and
provides a professional, sharp finish. Finally the canvas is carefully
wrapped around a thick wooden stretcher frame ready for hanging
directly on your wall.
Can
I request revisions after I have received my proofs?
Yes. We are
happy to make
some basic revisions to one of your proofs, such as rearranging colors,
etc. We will ont print your portrait until your are not totaly
satisfied, and until you send us the validation of the preview.
What
about Copyright?
By sending us
your image,
you are automatically acknowledging that you are the copyright owner of
this image, or have obtained permission from the copyright owner in
written form, which permits us to print it in accordance with your
order.
